Antonio Natale is born is Foggia (Italy) on May 13th, 1965. In his hometown he attends the Liceo Artistico and follows classes of advertising poster designer and dress designer. He also works as an advertising designer and press illustrator in a newspaper from Puglia. In 1984 he leaves to Rome where he joins the Accademia de Belle Art and graduates in 1988. During those years, essential for his training, he attends seminars on engraving at the Calcografia Nazionale of Rome. He also conducts researches on the history of the Myth connected to the modus operandi of the Italian artistic field "Nuova Maniera". He even works as an interior decorator. Antonio Natale starts travelling in Europe and discovers the Northern expressionists whose impact will be fundamental.

1991. He receives a price from The Royal Order of Cyprus as well as one from the Istituto Internazionale di Cultur, Scienze e Arti of Rome.

1992. He carries out three panels and several posters on the theme of Human Rights for Amnesty International. In Rome, during the XXIII edition of the European Day he receives from City Hall “l’Oscar dei giovani ‘92”, in the presence of high political authorities of the Italian capital and national press.

1995. He enters the artistic group “Ossimori” created in December 1989 in Spain and active between Granada and Foggia. This group advertises several artistic and cultural activities in Europe and helps realize art work thanks to the collaboration of several artists who have the possibility to express themselves through a superposition of signs, forms and colors.

1996. Some xylography works of Antonio Natale were bought by the Cabinet of Ancient Engraving of Bagnacavallo (Ravenna). He starts an intense collaboration with Art Space of Nishinomiya (Japan) and the Maison du Grand Nord of Lompret (France).

1997. In May, the University of Foggia buys him six art works for the president of the Law Faculty. In November the office of tourism of Leysin (Switzerland) commissions a painting that will be used as an advertising poster to promote the ski resort.

1998. In Rome, in December he wins the first price in the National Competition of Advertising for the poster called Ciego. In Florence he enters the Repertorio of national xylography by the side of main artists listed since 1946.

2000. In March, the city of Bronzolo (Bonzano) contact him to have him join the Centro di Documentazione dell’illustrazione contemporanea italiana, tedesca, svizzera e austriaca. In August the Brown-Forman Corporation of Louisville (Kentucky, USA) buys a work of art for its collection. During the summer, only Italian among eighteen artists from all around the world, he is selected by the Belgian artist Bernd Reichert for the realization of the book “Bizarre Cities”.

2002. In February, he achieves five drawings for the revue Lire au Lycée Professionnel (Academy of Grenoble). In October, on demand of the Agency of Prevention of Blindness of Rome, he realizes a poster for the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of Louis Braille.

2003. In January the Field Study of Geelong (Australia) calls him to ask him to collaborate, with other artists, to the realization of the book Wipe. On October 29th he participates in the TV show Uno Mattina on the Italian channel RAIUNO.

2005. In May, Igor Righetti interviews him during the radio show Il Comunicativo on Radio RAIUNO. In September he is chosen by the Artistic Commission of the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò of New York University to present a personal exhibition in June 2007.

2007. He joins the Centro di Documentazione Eventi du PAN (Palazzo delle Arti di Napoli).

Antonio Natale lives and works between Italy and Switzerland.
